Penn Charter embraces tradition and welcomes innovation. Founded in 1689, Penn Charter is the oldest Quaker school in the world and remains true to the Quaker principles of equality, community, peace, and truth. The Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools operate in three separate school buildings and share one mission: to offer a rigorous academic curriculum that encourages intellectual curiosity and fosters lifelong learning. When classes end for the day, the school hums with the sounds of students participating in music and drama rehearsals, clubs and community service projects and – on the green lawns of our 44-acre campus – interscholastic sports.
