Wyoming Seminary is a day and boarding school with Upper and Lower School suburban campuses three miles apart in the suburbs of Wilkes-Barre. Founded in 1844, “Sem” is characterized by a rigorous liberal arts tradition, small classes, highly qualified teachers, 25 AP (Advanced Placement) courses, and a commitment to extracurricular programs. Our sequentially articulated curriculum balances the learning of essential content with the acquisition of critical thinking skills. Annually about 80% of grads are accepted at the top three tiers of colleges and universities. Affiliated with the Methodist Church, Sem reinforces respect and responsibility through assemblies, chapels, and community service.
