PAIS + ADVIS = YOU
An Update on the Merger

In January 2019, the boards of PAIS and ADVIS declared an “Intent to Merge,” setting in motion the work to assess, discuss and consider a possible merger. A few months later, a decision was made to delay the timeline of the merger, pushing discussions into the 2019-2020 school year.

This summer, Vicki Yatzus and Rich Nourie, past and present Board Chairs of ADVIS, met with Mark Anderson and Kevin Rea, past and present Board Chairs of PAIS, along with Barbara Kraus-Blackney, ADVIS Executive Director and Gary Niels, PAIS Interim Executive Director to renew considerations of the merger.

As a result, our organizations have reengaged merger consultants, Triangle and Associates, and committed to regular meetings between Barbara and Gary to continue discussions of the merger. Barbara and Gary are beginning to draft the next steps of the process.

Both PAIS and ADVIS boards are meeting in October to review the previous agreements and be updated on the upcoming steps. Look for more updates in the next issue of Connections.
