PAISTA: Executive Functions in Middle School and Upper School Make the Difference!

Executive Functions in Middle School and Upper School Make the Difference!
A PAISTA Pittsburgh Program
March 17, 3:45-5pm (VIRTUAL)
Audience: Focused primarily on Middle and Upper School students, ALL teachers, learning specialists, and academic leaders would benefit from this program.
COST: $25 PAIS Pittsburgh educators, $50 all others
Focused on the middle school or upper school student, learn why students struggle and exactly what to do about it in real classrooms, connecting classroom management, academic performance, and behavior through an executive function lens. Mike translates executive function into observable behaviors - initiation, follow-through, emotional control, attention, organization, flexibility—so teachers can respond with skill-building supports instead of generic advice.
This virtual session is packed with ready-to-use tools: language scripts, routines, visuals, checklists, and step-by-step interventions teachers can implement the same day. Mike shows how to reduce power struggles, increase student independence, and improve engagement without adding unrealistic workload. The result is teachers that feel more confident, students who feel more capable, and systems that actually make follow-through and regulation easier.
